VLC Media Player is a well known and reputed video and an audio player application for Windows. A couple of years back, VLC developers released this video player for Android and other devices too. It can be sideloaded on Firestick and Android TV box.
In this guide, I’m going to show you a step by step tutorial to install VLC media player on Firestick. It’s a completely free media player from VideoLan Inc. It supports all video formats and audio formats. Even, you can retrieve the subtitles too. I am using VLC player on Firestick to watch contents from popular movies apps.
How To Install VLC Player on Firestick?
1: Open Firestick
Just plug-in all the cables and turn on Firestick and your TV. Also, connect your Firestick with a working WiFi network. Once your device will be connected to the internet, you’ll see this kind of user interface.
2: Go to the Search option
Using your Fire TV Remote, go to the search option of Firestick. You can download millions of apps from the Amazon App Store.
3: Type “VLC”
In the search option, type- “VLC” (without quotes) with the help of your Fire TV Remote. You’ll see lot’s of recommendations, using your Fire TV Remote, select VLC for Fire TV.
4: Select VLC Media Player
Here you can see the application VLC for Fire TV is available.
5: Select Download
Here you will see a “Download” button. If you’re installing it for the first time, you’ll see the “Get” option. Just select that to begin the installation.
6: Wait…
Just wait for a few seconds. The application is downloading on your Firestick device. It may take up to 50 seconds to download and install.
7: Open the app
Congratulations! VLC Media Player has been installed on your Firestick. Now, select “Open” to launch it on your Fire TV device.
8: Select a file and play
That’s all, VLC on Firestick has been installed. Now, you can play all Video and Audio files on Firestick.
